Phentermine or Sibutramine?

What’s The Difference Between Phentermine and Sibutramine
Phentermine and Sibutramine are very similar and work on the body in similar ways. They are both classified as weight loss pills otherwise known as anti obesity agents, and appetite suppressants, and they are also both prescription medications – that usually require the consent of your doctor to take them.
However, there is a slight difference in the way they release their chemical contents into the body – and this is what forms the biggest difference between Phentermine and Sibutramine.
Phentermine works by way of ‘extended release’* (RX), while Sibutramine is an ‘immediate release’** medication.
* ‘extended release’ may also be known as ‘slow release’, ‘timed release’ or ‘controlled release’. ** ‘immediate release’ may also be known as ‘fast release’Extended Release Diet Pills – Phentermine
Phentermine, like all extended release medications has a special coating and ingredients that control how quickly the drug is released into your body. These are usually in the form of beads, inside the capsule that dissolve at different rates – giving a very even release of the drug.
This means the Phentermine is released slowly throughout the course of a day, giving the body a steady supply. This is known as a long acting medication. Therefore, if you take your Phentermine capsule in the morning – you will have the fat burning, appetite suppressing effects throughout the whole day.
Immediate Release Diet Pills – Sibutramine
Sibutramine, on the other hand, is an immediate release medication.
This means that the contents of the pill will dissolve in the stomach immediately – giving you a sudden burst of the chemical. This action is designed so that the Sibutramine takes effect as quickly as possible, (immediately) but does not last as long as the extended pill.
One possible downside of this ‘immediate release’ of Sibutramine is that the person may experience side effects. These can range from increased energy or difficulty sleeping to dizziness, a rapid heart rate, heart palpitations or restlessness. Not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate Sibutramine quite well, which is why these weight loss pills are FDA approved and are generally considered quite safe.
However, if you are in any doubt, seek the advice of your healthcare provider immediately.
